Attention Schools and Teachers
If you are a teacher and would like to plan a field trip for your class, please call or email your name, school, and address to the Fort Chadbourne Foundation office. Click the button below to download the Release Form. Please complete it and return it to us before the field trip. It is a great way to give your students a hands-on learning experience they won’t soon forget!
Senior Living Centers, Motorcycle Clubs, Car Clubs, Church Groups… Call us and set up a tour today! We suggest you allow approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours for your trip. You can even bring a sack lunch and enjoy a picnic under the covered pavilion, or if you have a large group, have it catered by your favorite restaurant.
Come join us for a fun and educational day in Texas History! Admission is free, but donations are always welcome.
Fort Chadbourne Animals
Field trips would not be complete without a visit to see the small herd of buffalo, longhorn, and donkey. The Fort Chadbourne buffalo herd usually increases in size each May with the addition of new babies. The babies are born orange in color and slowly change to the recognizable shade of brown we envision when we think of buffalo. The two longhorns are Duke and Daisy. Blackjack, the donkey is always a big hit with visitors!
