Fort Chadbourne Visitor CenterThe Fort Chadbourne Visitor Center, Roberta Cole Johnson Building, was completed in 2012. The 12,500 square foot facility houses over 300 antique guns, thousands of military and Native American artifacts, cannons, theater, a Medal of Honor display featuring a wall with each recipient’s name engraved, cowboy heritage, a branding wall, stagecoach, antique bank and bar, along with information on the restoration of Fort Chadbourne. The center also house a library.
Administrative offices, gift shop, and an outdoor pavilion round out the complex. Located around the flagpole, at the entrance, is an ongoing display featuring the Fort Chadbourne memorial bricks and granite tiles. These may be purchased in honor of a loved one, or as a tribute to clubs or family members. |
